Love's Trellis: Amidst the Bluegrass Meadow

Matthew R. Callies

In the meadow of bluegrass, love's sweet refrain,

Where valentine whispers soothe the pain,

Amidst the blooms on the trellis of time,

A tale unfolds, both tender and prime.

But amidst the beauty, an onslaught looms,

A vexation that darkens love's blooms,

Like a hedgehog curled in a ball,

Defensive against the world's cruel call.

Yet love's radiance knows no bounds,

It reinstates hope where it once drowned,

Shortening the distance between heart and soul,

Enhancing the bond that makes us whole.

So let us weave love's trellis high,

Above the storms, beneath the sky,

For in its embrace, we find our peace,

And all life's challenges, love shall ease.
