And With Slicken Eyes I Say, Mother I Plead

Asaan Abbott

And with slicken eyes I say, Mother I Plead

From my days of adolescence you’ve failed to arrive.

In all my moments of life, the idea of mother was uknown.

Staring out my bedroom window, I kissed the addiction to you all goodbye.

And whenever I hear your voice or the syllables of your name, my heart knows no delight.

And with slicken eyes I say,

Mother I plead, please just say goodbye.

To ridden me of the burden of waiting for your arrive.

An arrow to the heart. When mother does not arrive then who else will. Such feelings of abandonment and aloneness fill this poem. Sad and tragic. I feel it
