How is breadcrumbing okay
When promises are broken each day?
Trust is shattered, hearts torn apart
Leaving only pain and a broken heart
All we want is truth, not games or lies
But breadcrumbs lead us astray, and we can't deny
Each crumb a lesson, teaching us to be strong
To live without you, where love doesn't belong
With every passing day, we heal and grow
Learning to live in harmony, our hearts no longer slow
We find our strength, our fears subside
And we emerge, no longer tied to your side
———-
A Trail of Breadcrumbs, A Path of Pain
I leave a trail of crumbs, a path I've designed
Telling myself it's love, but it's hard to define
I string you along, with promises and lies
Convincing myself it's for your own good, a compromise
I see the hope in your eyes, the love you impart
But I'm too blinded, to see the pain in your heart
I justify my actions, as a means to an end
But deep down, I know, I'm just a friend
I whisper sweet nothings, in your ear so fine
But the words are hollow, and the love's not mine
I'm chasing my own desires, my own needs and fears
Leaving you in the shadows, through all the tears
I say I'm doing this, out of love for you
But the truth is hidden, and I don't know what to do
I'm lost in my own world, my own selfish desires
Causing you so much pain, and setting our love on fire

- Comment from author about the poem: I wrote these two poems on two different perspectives. I wanted to see if I could get a better understanding on what is going on in this situation and if there is a pattern

A self reflecting poem of the occurrences in a relationship and the writers contribution. Self reflective it opens doors to recourse. A lovely write
