a kiss from death

MR.apocalypse

ive seen seen the the light before

a gift was given though the dark

a child who has seen the door

upon his mind was burned the mark

no one has ever felt that peace

unless they made it back alive

a trip of which they did not need

a path they did not choose to ride

a kiss from death how sweet it sounds

its lipstick marks upon my head

what i have seen cannot be found

until the moment you are dead

  • Comment from author about the poem: i almost died by the hands of my mother by strangulation as a child.....i have seen the milky honey glow.......i have felt the burden of the world lifted........i have felt my soul being free....i have been by kissed by death....now i wander the earth with her mark

A most traumatic event cast in a rather serene and peace wording of the poem it opened into much deeper meaning with the author's note. A raw poem in smooth words. Nicely done
