and her wings were open
and mine were closed
and her mouth opened
while mine stayed closed
and it was so long ago
and it was right now
and her halo shone, and i looked up into the heavens,
and she said to me
"nobody is looking"
and she said to him
"we are just playing"
and i said to him
"yeah that's right"
and i forgive you
and i worry for you
and i see you then
in replacement for you now
i don't know what i would say to you now
in a way
i want to be a little angel with you again
and i want to be children
and i want to play with you as children would
and maybe it would be different if it was not so rushed
and maybe there is a version where we really were just "experimenting"
maybe in that version
i dont have the sinking feeling
that somebody did this
to you
too
I would see you, and you would be an adult. me too.
and maybe we would hug, you hugged me last time.
and its not like that happened when we got older at all.
and its not like we ever spoke about it.
maybe the version where it is okay, can be this one,
i hope you are alright wherever you are,
i would like to tell you myself
but also
I would like to keep my wings closed.

It is the manner in which this poem is written and the story told the vacillation between yesterday and today the tentative nature of speech and all as if going back and forth between images that makes this one great. It shows the inner workings of the mind and is innocent in its form and typical of trauma and its return from the past to the present. I is shattered. Very well done a fave
