To Charlie Kirk's shooter.
You feared his words, the truths he dared to speak,
Believing metal could make strong voices weak.
But he was stronger than your bullet's cruel design,
His voice, a beacon, meant to ever shine.
You didn't silence him; you gave his words new might,
You didn't kill his voice; you lit a fiercer light.
You thought to end the moment, to make the passion cease,
Instead, you fanned the flames, shattered your own false peace.
Charlie still fights, for battles we all share,
His message echoes, carried on the air.
And we, who stand beside him, hear the urgent call,
We'll never back down, we'll stand through it all.

- Comment from author about the poem: This individual had a family and a life. He is no longer with us due to a disagreement over his political views. It is absolutely reprehensible. There is no place in this world for such malevolence. I am exhausted by the horrific and divisive rhetoric that is prevalent. Everyone is wishing harm on those who hold different opinions. It needs to stop. it's not right. It's unacceptable how we've become fragmented among ourselves. Change is imperative, regardless of one's sexual orientation, weight, physical attributes, race, or ethnicity. We're all human beings, possessing hearts and being someone's loved one. We all have inherent value. It's essential to cease this destructive behavior immediately.
