Coward

Emperor

No attempt ever made

No courage to follow

A coward man was smart

A tale of such sorrow

One night along the street

He would run into fear

They would introduce themselves

And courage wouldn't interfere

He'd get told of all the risks

And how it could go wrong

The trouble he could attract

Not worth all he could want

Fear would pull him back

From taking all the risks

So the man would be safe

But so much he would miss

He knew that fear was right

But courage he would need

As long as reason filled his head

Courage could only leave

Years went passing by

Fear remained by his side

The man believed in his reason

In his wits he'd taken pride

Fear is your enemy

Fear you should resent

But the coward man was smart

So the fear was his friend

A quarrel with the courage

Could he be endeared

Can reason help find balance

Between courage and the fear

In a moment of misery

He realised he had lost

Chances he could have taken

Some things he loved the most

Such a day had arrived

Fear fled from his life

The reason went away

A hanging corpse left behind
