A Husk

directionlesssheep

Nothing but a husk

Can I just turn into dust?

Guilty conscience

Or just a wise disguise?

Please, let me believe in my own cries.

I'm a person built with a lie.

Have mercy on me this time,

And help me find truth—even just a dime.

Please, leave your herd of sheep,

And let me find you—your lost one.

Please, please, please, I'm asking for your help.

Welcome me with open arms once again.

Make my heart and mind at ease like before.

I'm seeking comfort from you, even though it's not what I deserve.

But please, please, please, let me follow your true words and lessons once again.
