I will wait

Sophia Garcia

I sit here with the laptop empty,

The words flowing through my head to my fingertips,

All of the things i want to say have empathy,

But i can't hold this game,

The game we are playing where you pretend like i don't text you,

The game were i sit and cry at my unseen words,

I will wait.

Thats what i said,

But i feel like a fish trying to take the bait,

Knowing they will get caught,

Knowing this will end bad,

But no.

I will wait.

Always and forever,

Thats what i said,

But its not forever,

Its not always,

Im the fish,

Your the bait.

Im the one hoping,

Praying to get a taste,

While you sit there,

Watching me flop.

Watching me struggle for air in the fine restraints im in,

The restraints of the love i caddered,

But no.

I will wait.

With this screen empty,

My eyes full of tears,

And a heart yearning for more of your taste.

Disappointment drips from this poem a sadness of loss of something never possessed. Well written
