Plenty of fish in the sea.

Sophia Garcia

"There's plenty of fish in the sea."

Is what people say every time i complain,

Every time I whine about how I have no one's hand to hold,

No one to wrap my arms around,

No one's eyes to get lost in,

No one's heartbeat to listen too,

But,

Maybe there was plenty of fish,

But now,

The fish are dying,

The water is full of trash,

The rainbows flout on the surface,

Not the kind of rainbows that are created when light hits the water just right,

The kind of rainbows that get washed away with Dawn Dish soap in the adds.

"There's plenty of fish in the sea."

Or maybe the fish everyone talks about,

Aren't little guppies,

Or koi with beautiful colors,

Maybe they are talking about the piranhas,

The fish that lurk in the dark,

Waiting for something to strike.

But,

Maybe,

There is a beautiful sea out there,

Or a lake,

Or a river,

I would even take a creek.

Just as long as I know,

The fish will never hurt,

Never bite,

Then I might,

Just maybe,

Find the fish for me,

Out in the clean sea.

I'm a picky fish eater myself and I know all fish eat. It's what they eat that is troublesome. I don't like bottom feeders, I stay away from sharks, whales are too large. The sea is overfished and polluted but every once in a while with patience I hook a dolphin, not the mammal but the fish colorful and full of fight and oh so delicious when fresh. Great write
