In recent weeks, a truth so clear and bright,
My dearest friend, with wisdom brought to light,
Has shown me paths I'd hesitated to embrace,
And now I stand in a much bolder space.
He spoke of courage, a fire in the soul,
To chase my dreams and make my spirit whole.
To move ahead, with purpose in my stride,
And let no fear within my spirit hide.
For every wall, each doubt, each inner plea,
Was built by none, my friend affirmed, but me.
No outer force, no world-imposed decree,
Could ever bind what longs to be set free.
And in that truth, a blinding, clear release,
A sudden knowledge bringing inner peace.
The chains I wore, invisible and deep,
Were forged by fears that I allowed to keep.
He's absolutely right, the scales have fallen down,
No longer captive to a hesitant frown.
So now I rise, with purpose strong and keen,
To step into the person I've always been.
Embracing all the skills I hold so dear,
No longer shadowed by a silent fear.
The path is open, clear, and brightly shown,
I'm doing what I know best, and making it my own.

- Comment from author about the poem: The most important thing I have learned from my best friend over the past couple of weeks is to have courage, move forward, pursue my dreams, and not be scared, because nobody can stop me but myself. He's absolutely right. I am now doing what I know best.
