Don’t hand out advice
Especially to kids
They will not appreciate
But will blow their lids –
And this applies
to grown-ups too
For if you interfere –
you will rue
Don’t be pushy
Recommend instead
For then it may shoot in
Right into their head
Unsolicited advice will be brushed aside
For It can be deemed judgmental
And hurt someone’s pride..
Cos No one likes to be doled out advice
Even though it’s well meant and nice
So hold your horses
And hold your tongue
Do not utter
The advice that has sprung –
With the best of intentions
From the bottom of your heart
Because you can’t bear
To see a sad and broken heart.

Hilarious in irony, dearest NafisaSB you couldn't imagine how much trouble I get into for loving others. A wonderful if I may say, inside out piece, brilliant and very creative. 🌹
indeed, my friend, experience is a good teacher...one thinks of helping others so that they don't suffer like us - but, but, but...no one likes to get advice - only to give..lol
Bless your cotton socks for giving me a good laugh, Nafisa👍☺️
good it made you smile at the irony of the matter.
take care - stay safe
(As is customary round here:) You are very welcome.
Good advice about not giving advice Nafisa the irony in this is magnificent. All done in rhyme as well
thanks - it is indeed strange how every one wants to go through the experience, rather than take good and well meant advice..lol
You are most welcome. No one wants advice but everyone needs it.
Unsolicited advice tends to backfire not so much for the volatility of the the advice themselves. But there we go🕊️🙏🏻
so true - even solicited advice is not appreciated btw...but we never learn - we tend to advise thinking we are helping...
Aye, I’ve cauliflower beds on my boxed ears… slow to learn 🕊️🙏🏻
I love the rhyme and rhythm of this poem, and you give very sound advice. Good write!
