Started off with a "yo"—didn’t know I’d end up like this.
Didn’t know I’d be kicking my feet, thinking about you.
I told myself, never again.
Can’t trust, can’t fall, can’t drown like this.
But here I am—a sore eye
For brown eyes.
A soft voice that sounds like sugar flowing.
Didn’t know the moon and sun could be so close,
But here I am, sitting next to you,
Wishing on every last breath
That this time is forever, and no one’s letting go.
Here I am, about to go down a river—so slow, yet so fast.
Worried one mess-up will cut us in half.
I’m wishing on every star, every time I can.
I don’t know why I fell so easily.
Maybe because you were the first one to call, to text,
To say I was beautiful—even.
I don’t know why we’re such best friends yet.
The moon and sun—never close, but always forever.
A promise.
A pinky promise.
That settles it.
I started off with a "yo"—didn’t know I’d end up here saying:
Good night. I like you. Way, way more.
After that, I laid in bed thinking of you all night.
Thought I was insane—falling for another trap,
Waiting for a mistake. But every time—every time— I fell deeper for you.
I didn’t know this was possible, But I’m really hoping it’s you.
Because you seem so real to me.
And this time, I feel real to you.
Tell me I’m wrong.
Tell me it’s a lie.
I’m waiting for hope to die.
But every single time,
You prove me wrong with a “hi.”
I don’t know if I’ll float forever,
Or if my boat will last.
Because after a while,
People don’t last.
But here I go again— I just said “yo,” And it ended with us like this.
Tell me I’m wrong.
Tell me it’s a lie.
But the moon and the sun
Were never close—
But always forever.
