Sourness

Ray Moonee

Sourness in life
Is like lemons in lemonade,
Is like shattered paint on canvas.

Composing something new in life,
Even broken strokes,
Can spark a new beginning on canvas.

Wielding the sourness of life
Cooks a new dish within us—
Like lemons in lemonade.

Should we learn to play with sourness,
to make our life a beautiful dish?

  • Comment from author about the poem: Every bitter drop can become a masterpiece. "Sourness" is reflecting on how painful or “sour” moments can actually become the ingredients for growth and creativity. Just like lemons in lemonade or broken brushstrokes in a painting, the bitterness we experience can be transformed into something nourishing and beautiful if we’re willing to “play with” it instead of resisting it.

All it takes is a bit of sugar. A lovely write that uses adversity as a positive. Nicely done.

Life is a meal eaten with many emotions. It can taste great when we are in success and it can taste bad when we are down. But you have to keep living, leRning and continuing to acheive the freatness you were put here for.
