A SINGLE ROSE

nephilim56 ( Norman Dickson)

A single rose
Which dies alone
Trickling tears
Without a home
In isolation
Cast astray
Forlorn is love
Without a way.

Its weeping petals
Years which pass
Saddened days
Heartaches supress
Its aging stem
A pillar of stone
Supporting loneliness
When hope has flown.

In night
When dreams abound
Its deepest wishes
Can be found
Trapped within
A prison without walls
Its tender sigh
In vain it calls.
