When will it end?

NafisaSB

Streaming tears

Escalating fears

Wordless screams

Shattered dreams..

Is might right

To create such fright?

Callous behavior

Causes hearts on fire

Broken promises

Torn desire

Forced compliance

As might seems right

Trembling spirit

Cowering with fright.

Tell their tale..

That day seems night..

Road ahead

Full of boulders

Causing anxiety -

Stooped shoulders

These are stories

Of bleeding hearts -

In which all parts

Are broken shards.

Now our morrow

Seems drowned in sorrow

As innocents suffer

Without a buffer

When will this greed

And madness end?

Have the minds of leaders

Gone around the bend??

Wish I knew, Nafisa. Very well stated, with the only question one could possibly ask at your conclusion.

    • NafisaSB

exactly - my fears don't seem unfounded...
'peace' is now just a word in the dictionary..unfortunately

When that well known president changes the name of his Department of Defense to Department of War and that is the most truthful description to come out of his mouth since.....
        Can't help feeling.....

        • NafisaSB

I agree with you - our fears seem to be having solid foundations, and the war cry is becoming more strident
let us live our lives in peace while we can..have a beautiful Sunday

            For you - Amen.

This poem expresses a deep sense of despair and frustration over the state of the world, particularly in relation to violence, suffering, and the moral failures of leaders. It questions the ethics of power and the impact of greed and madness on innocent lives.

Dear NafisaSB, your compassion and empathy, for all that's wrong with the world is beautifully written into this poem, your rhyming is flawless, I can truly agree with your observations on it all, it is a mess all of it. 🌹 Kudos my dear friend.

                • NafisaSB

yes, I agree, and it seems to be escalating - and I wonder where it is leading to ..
the only thing we can do is speak up and try to get others to notice...
Have a great and peaceful weekend, and thanks for the comments

Safina, dear friend, this is raw and urgent. The broken promises, bleeding hearts, and trembling spirits land heavy…a cry that can’t be ignored. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

                  • NafisaSB

and yet, it is ignored, which is so unfortunate and tragic.
thanks for understanding the message - have a peaceful Sunday

Leaders will be forgotten but poets live for eternity through their writings. Happy birthday on 19 September !
