Can’t move Forward

William Hromada

Stuck in this current, waves drag me down, Each step ahead, something pulls me back- like chains dressed as doubt. Heartbeats echo, not now, while dreams slip through cracks. Yet light flickers ahead; one kick, I'll break free, Forward's not easy, but backward's just me.

A poem of strife and difficulties that like swimming against the current is most difficult. Nicely worded, short and to the point.

Feels like 21st century living, one step forward, ten steps back.

Really love the line "Backwards just me"
