As thirty-two comes to an end,
I feel anxiety, yet hope begins to bend.
Something inside me shifts, takes flight,
Guiding me softly toward the light.
In the shower, a thought appeared,
A lyric once faint, now sharp, now clear:
We create the world we live within,
A truth reborn, a place to begin.
I asked myself what life’s about,
The lessons learned through fear and doubt.
When I stopped my thoughts and chose to feel,
Warmth and love became more real.
Chills ran through me, pure and true,
Mind, body, soul aligned anew.
For one brief moment joy held me whole,
The ancient language of my soul.
But thought returned to claim its ground,
Naming illusions that I’d found.
We tie our feelings to roles and space,
And lose ourselves in their embrace.
I saw my life in themes and streams,
Home and work, reality’s schemes.
Each its own culture, colors, and style,
Inviting me in, but stealing a while.
I adapted too much, forgot my flame,
Conformed to the rules of a fleeting game.
But truth was clear, and whispered low:
Carry your warmth wherever you go.
I return to childhood, age four or five,
Where sunlight taught me what it means to be alive.
Water glistened, the sky was wide,
A garden path stretched by my side.
No faces near, yet love was near still,
A warmth in my chest no world could kill.
That was my halo, golden and free,
The essence of all that is truly me.
This halo is not a memory alone,
But woven from moments my soul has known.
It is not outside, it does not depart,
It lives in my breath, my mind, my heart.
So now I vow to keep it near,
Through every theme, through doubt and fear.
No more shrinking, no need to pretend,
With halo intact, I’ll never bend.
For we are one, though many we seem,
Reflections within a greater dream.
Guiding each other, hand in hand,
Through man-made themes we misunderstand.
Without my halo, I lose my way,
With it, I rise to greet each day.
This gift, this truth, I now must keep,
Awake in the hours, alive in my sleep.
And as I grow, I’ll live with care,
With gratitude woven everywhere.
I’ll share my light, let love break through,
So others may find their halos too.

I love this a halo, a guiding light. Well done.
