Summer Equinox

gray0328

the air hangs heavy with waiting

leaves trembling at their edges

sunlight no longer burns but lingers

a soft whisper across tired skin

days stretch wide but feel hollow

the best of summer now fading

its warmth drips between fingers

fall peeks but does not speak

we ache for what we can't touch

the golden haze of something ending

our hearts not yet ready for change

but the earth keeps turning quiet

this odd uneven breathing time

where past and future collide gently

teaching us to hold the present tight

to love the space between becoming
