Don’t pass me by,
don’t close your eyes.
This poem is not pretty,
this poem bleeds.
It’s the voice of someone who screams in silence,
the voice of one who was loved once
and then thrown into oblivion.
Do you know how it hurts to exist
when no one remembers your name?
There is no hope here,
no consolation,
only an open wound
that nobody chose to heal.
Imagine waking each morning
and discovering your life doesn’t matter,
that your laughter was lost to the air,
that your tears left no mark.
The world keeps turning, indifferent,
while I shatter into pieces.
And I write,
because it’s all I have left.
I write so someone will read me,
even for a second,
even if tomorrow you forget.
Read me,
because behind these lines
there is a heart no longer whole,
a soul collapsing with every verse.
Read me,
because this pain cannot bear the silence.
And when you finish,
when you close these lines,
perhaps you will understand
that whole lives are dying around you,
while no one looks.

- Comment from author about the poem: This poem is not just words—it’s a cry. It speaks of pain, silence, and the kind of loneliness that so often goes unnoticed. I want you to read it, not just with your eyes, but with your heart. Because behind every line there is someone who could be your neighbor, your friend, or even you—suffering quietly, waiting to be seen.

Loneliness is so common in today's society. People pretend to care but it seems no one does. Nicely written
thank you
Most welcome
We now live in a world where neighbours put up big fences for privacy.
Unfortunately, this now echoes across the country, losing all contact with each other.
Totally agree
