Passage

Fränz Müller

Ice against steel:

The only steady sound as, slowly

The car is seized by chaos

And spun off the road into destiny.

Blue flashing lights, flicker

Red steaming snow grows

As time slows, then shudders, then stops.

The world folds in upon itself

Darkness upon darkness

Until all that remains

Is a long, cold box

Beneath a grey, withered tree

Tear-drenched with the final misery

Of that long-ago moment (when there was)

Ice against steel.

A wonderful poem that progresses with style from light and color to elements. Well done

The poem "Passage" explores themes of chaos, loss, and the inevitability of fate, particularly in the context of a traumatic event, likely a car accident. The imagery suggests a moment frozen in time, marked by despair and the stark reality of mortality.
