The Mutilation of Tender Realisation

Anandh K

The sweet childhood for me was just deprivation;

I lived my days within a world of imagination;

For me even basic things needed calculation;

While others enjoyed its fruit I lived in starvation.

“Why am I alone?” I don’t know how many times I asked this question.

The only way to stay alive was embracing isolation.

Every single day was just another frustration;

Without even knowing, I had befriended self-rejection.

“Love me!” I cried in desperation;

No one gave a hand during those days of devastation.

Tears never flowed in emanation;

Maybe those elixir beauties also hide in fear and humiliation.

    Catchy rhyme in this poem help its flow and make it fun to read. Its meaning is sad and feels that isolation is a defense learned since childhood. Nicely written
