Letters I Never Sent

Insanely Hilarious

I wrote a letter to my first friend,
Told her I loved her till the end.
I expressed everything I could never say,
But I never let it see the light of day.

I wrote a letter I'd never send,
To the person who changed me.
I screamed my rage into the paper,
Just to rip it apart later.

I wrote a letter to the people who love me now.
Expressed my gratitude,
Showered them in love.
I hid it in a secret box, not to be touched, not to be found.

I wrote a letter to my past self,
Told her, 'Princess, you're capable'.
I can imagine her laugh if she saw it,
She'd point out typos but read with hope.

I wrote a love letter to my present self,
Pretending to be the perfect woman.
I promised the world through self-love,
Assured I'd always be my favorite human.

I wrote a letter to my future self,
Said, 'sweetheart, be happy, all I ask'.
I hope she takes my advice someday.
Hope she never wears three different masks.

We are three different people that past, present and future. Nicely written

capturing self into words is a talent reserved for the most skilled.

They always say you should write yourself a letter.
And I must admit, I've always meant to do one.
Just not sure if I can take my own criticism, mind you.
Can Imagine committing myself with my own diagnosis.

You're not alone in feeling that way. I wonder if yknow, we write a letter to ourselves and then we grow up and read it and end up disappointed in who we are that day
