A New Discovery

Anas Merchant

A NEW DISCOVERY

Times going by, but at what cost?
What a shame when a moments potential is lost

Lost is the moment when I don’t get to touch or look you in your eyes
Lost like a planet, out of its orbit into the unknowns of the sky

There is a gossip between my mind and my heart
Whether to name you a logical theory or an emotional art

You are a new discovery for me in its raw untouched form
You are a pen full of ink, you are the silence before the storm

There is a gathering of love, logic, lust and longing
The topic is consumption, possession, hold and belonging

The center of this gathering, you are the ritual, you are the fire
You dance at the sound of the mantras, wearing your cosmic attire

I know you, you know me, I don’t know me, you don’t know you,
Our union will be complete, if you become me and I become you - Anas Merchant

A poem of attraction it has some very good lines (There is a gathering of love, logic, lust and longing The topic is consumption, possession, hold and belonging) uses alliteration and the pairing of threes to make a great two lines. Nicely written
