The Opposing Mind

Iris Lynn

My mind is my diabolical opposer

She toys with my emotions conflicting the scars that never seem to cure

Speaking in maladaptive tongues so I never live in vain.

Crumbles the dopamine in tactical games

She shouts formidable threats and criticizes when I hear

But every demon comes with a saint

My heart is my sole liberator

Mending the emotional scaring from her manipulating trauma

Each beat containing the connection of hope

Nurturing the body with blissful serenity

Tenderly replenishing the wounded self

For my heart is in armor shackled to my very mind

Cautious with eliminating the wrong from right

Written in ink here I sign

For my heart is my aid and one day so will be my mind.

Logic and emotion often seem opposites but really should be seen as good friends that argue a lot. A poem nicely written
