She Held On

Sassy Lou

She held on like grim death through the darkest night

her hands still clutched her epitome debark

The microcosm could annihilate, the storm could whirl

but nothing crushed the blaze within

She held firm when hope was minuscule

her heart forbade to lose it all

Though the pain had graven her deepest scars

She found her fortitude among the stars

She held on, love her guiding flame

her epitome reborn, no longer same

For even when the night seemed long

She proved her heart was always strong

A poem of tenacity and grit like determination displayed in this poem that can be taken as for love or other things. In a sense it speaks to character of the person. Nicely written in most poetic form
