A Life & The tree

Maplespal

A life

Exactly as they intended it ended.
They were choosing what they were loosing.
They had they're heart set from the start.
Walking away unaware without a care.
No concern what they just lost or the cost.
You cloud the view they don't see the true.
Voted for a fake as if they weren't awake.
Grabbed their prize the errors blind to eyes.
The real art hidden in a room signed forbidden.
We closed our doors tight for the night.
Broke out the booze for a think with a drink.
Now we plan the next scammed lie to next try.

The tree

The tree fell in front of me,
it was far away when it fell.
Looking right at it I didn't see,
not until at it, could I tell.
Confused I was and looked back,
wondering if I was lost in thought.
The tree hit and made it's smack,
did I hear anything, I did not.
The roots were pulled to be seen,
the roadway partially it was blocked.
Branches broken leaves so green,
covering the side where I walked.
Interested, but I made no sound,
I had some place I had to be.
I walked myself around,
the wind fallen tree.

It is for the first that fave is given although the second is wonderful as well. The theme of the first together with the rhyme of each line like a hammer sinking a nail drives home its point and secures it as a plank. So sadly true. The second leaves a feeling of tragedy a metaphor for the callus uncaring and unhelping had of humans. Nicely written
