there is Something
certainly Arrogant
about Identifying
as people Never wrong
within Their theologically
small Spherical bubbles.
Keeping golden-calf customs
Never leads to creativity,
Only to caustic control
Weathering down wholeness.
strangulating True expression
is quite essentially Hate,
it is the complete Erasure
of the self; hell’s Yoke’s creation.
self-assurance birthed this erA
of “hate and be seen as god’s shaRe”
—empathy and love decried too wokE,
yet, we all know, Such people
have to grow up, Include, and
show they No longer fake faith,
but will Newly show it,
ever Enthusiastically,
in humble Reverence
of the Sacred worth in all.

Tristan what a wonderful acrostic hidden in this poem. What ever sin is we all are participators. and as the Greeks knew so ar the gods. A most lovely write
Haha yes, Soren...you found the hidden key! And youβre rightβ¦even the old gods werenβt immune. I appreciate the way you connect those dots, my friend. So glad the poem delivered! π₯ππβ¨
You are most welcome Tristan
I never killed the fatted calf. I 'killed' the golden calf. It tasted funny at dinner though! Oh, and I invited some friends - P... oh, you knows him! lol.
Haha, Orchi...you got me with that one. Golden calf stewβ¦sounds like trouble on the stomach and the teeth! Does Popeye even have teeth, might explain the Spinach..but it will never explain the ...don't finish that! Always love your humor, my friend. π₯ππβ¨
Swoon! Can't finish that, so we'll never know the explanation! lol. But Porky Pig has no trousers. lol.
The poem explores the tension between rigid religious beliefs and the necessity for empathy and inclusivity. It critiques those who are inflexible in their faith, suggesting that such attitudes lead to hate and the erasure of individuality. Ultimately, it calls for a more open and loving approach to spirituality.
Friendship, exactly...you captured the heart of it. Rigid faith does erase, but love restores. Thank you for engaging so directly with this one. Always grateful, dear poet and friend. I truly appreciate you! π₯ππβ¨
Faith probably started out with good intentions, but along the way it got hijacked.
I don't doubt there is a lot of great religious people out there, but they always seem to be overshadowed by the fire raisers.
Exactly, Paul...you caught the truth of it. Faith is faith...but any faith can and often does get hijacked by the loudest and harshest voices. Still, the faith-"full" hearts remain. Grateful for your take, my friend. π₯ππβ¨
Made me remember driving through and staying at the so-called βBible Belt,β for some reason. Very moving, Tittu. ππ»ποΈ
Arqios, I love that this stirred memory for you. The Bible Belt can be a loaded place to pass through, and your words mean a lot to me, my friend. BTW, true story, the Bible Belt seems to house the most "Adult Superstore Warehouses". Just saying. The irony is even astounded at how ironic that is! π₯ππβ¨
Almost got the acrostic and then my eyes went squiffy just before the end. No such trouble with my spirituality - which doesn't really exist in any way capable of being expressed in words.π
πGreat read though, Tristan.
Haha, Dave...squiffy eyes happen to the best of us! And as for spirituality, words barely do the job anyway. Glad you dug the read, my friend. π₯ππβ¨
