I looked at the photo of you and me,
And I remembered everything.
It felt like we were writing a story together.
I remembered you like we had just talked this morning.
But then, a wave of dread came over me— Because I no longer know your harmony.
We both sing, dance, and live,
But we both know we have different songs.
I love you, and I always will.
You were my sister, my free will.
I will never forget you, though you may forget me.
Because when you show up, it's like we never grew on the same music sheet.
We play different music, like life.
You sing alto,
And I just harmonize.
I love you and always will—never forget that.
Though you may move away and never come back,
I still carry a similar tone to you.
I understand the cuts we both once drew.
And when we played the strings of life,
We both broke once or twice.
But if only you had stayed a little while longer with me,
Maybe you'd still be here, singing with me.
