Weathering the storm

Nicole Pritchard

A tempest brews, a turbulent sea

Inside my mind, a storm is me

Waves of doubt, of fear, of pain

Crash and swirl, a chaotic refrain

The winds howl loud, the thunder rolls

As emotions rage, my heart's in knots

The darkness gathers, a maelstrom's sway

I search for calm, a peaceful way

Like a lighthouse beam, I seek the shore

A refuge from the turmoil's roar

I breathe deep, and let go slow

The storm's wild energy starts to flow

The waves subside, the thunder's hush

As calmness settles, like a gentle rush

The sun peeks through, a glimmer of light

Illuminating the dark of night

In stillness, I find my center's core

A sense of peace, I've been searching for

The storm subsides, the turmoil fades

As I calm the waters, my heart's displayed

Such a metaphoric ride over a wild part of the soul. Nicely written
