Lost In Loving You

Teacher Kevin

Notice of absence from Teacher Kevin
Away for now but reachable via private message.

Lingered too long in your shadow,
Over and over I gave my all,
Searching for you, I forgot me,
Tears became the proof of love’s fall.

In your eyes I sought my home,
Never noticing my soul adrift.

Love consumed the self within me,
Only silence remained, a heavy gift.
Voices inside cried to be free,
Ignored for the sweetness of your embrace.
Now I awaken, broken yet wiser,
Gathering courage to claim my own space.

You were my world, my endless dream,
Only to fade when truth broke through.
Ultimately, I found myself—but lost you.

Older but wiser came to mind when I read this sad poem of loss and misplaced trust. A love gone array that holds a sense of anger and regret. Well written
