ONCE WE LOVED

nephilim56 ( Norman Dickson)

The morning dew
From petals shake
Past memories
Which take shape
In dawns fresh sun
Its warming rays
Reminders of
Better days.

The ribbon which held
Your fragranced hair
The tender touch
No longer there
The ragged thoughts
Of pain relived
A starry sky
Of Heaven peaked.

Loves dying path
A winding road
Deep within
Lifes weary cloak
Wrapped about
Its failing voice
Once we loved
Now we shout.

Tender, wistful with a sense of longing. Nicely written in short lines that punctuate the feelings. Well done
