I know the insinuation
the one that won’t abdicate
It grows into a quake
And you will sit with it
Your chest constructs
Your breath feels caged
You wear a smirk
but inside you temper
I’ve sensed the neurosis
Wriggle my chest
PTSD replay
Burning the midnight oil
Social fear silencing
What I wanted to say,
Panic attacks striking
OCD on replay
I’ve colonized in that prison
built inside my head
Apprehensive of futurity
haunted by what’s said
Roving at midnight
Enervation in the day
losing myself
In the conceptions that won’t meander
But hear me –
Chaos won’t last forever
It breaks, it precedes
And we rise together
Family that lives,
Friends who don’t let go –
that kind of support
Is the strongest conviction I know
So, when the weight feels endless,
And the night has no end
Lean on the hands of family, of friends
Their love is the ballast
their resolution is your own,
And with them beside you –
You are never alone
