Shadow Bound

Iris Lynn

I know my shadow as it knows me

A twin unseen, in secrecy.

We haunt the hush of cursed twilight,

Veiled in silence, cloaked in night.

We whisper truths the stars forget

In moonless hours of cold regret

No light can pierce our solemn vow

We walk where none remember how.

One might take the shadow as one's thoughts or companion. A lovely write.
