The Robin song
I will sing for you, if you wait with me
I will lift your heart as you lift your eyes
I will call your name in a kinder tongue
I will greet you from my more pleasant land.
Then I’ll follow you down to your fallow ground
where I’ll sing again in your place of pain,
there we’ll plant a seed in your time of need,
watch the colours burn as your joy returns.

I love this poem. It starts free verse but with a set meter and ends in full rhyming verse. It is the development and build of this that I find most intriguing and the message sent is just as gentle and supportive as it builds as well. A most lovely piece and a fave
Much appreciate the comment kind sir, apologies for taking too long to respond!
You are most welcome
“The Robin Song” breathes companionship in times of struggle. The robin isn’t just a bird here but serves as a symbol of hope, offering song and presence both in joy and in pain. What struck me most is the promise to follow “down to your fallow ground” where it’s not comfort that avoids suffering, but one that enters it with you. The closing image of planting a seed feels like a reminder that even in our lowest moments, something new can grow, and joy can return. 🙏🕊️
you've made my day kind sir, your comments are very much appreciated
