Orange

Steve Goldenfort

On the tenth of October, hear what I say.
Orange is the color, you'll see on that day.

Diligently separating, orange from the rest.
Because it's the color that best friend likes best.

To be a best friend, don't delve in the past.
Stay in the now, from the first to the last.

Beginning each day, I go about my quest.
In search of the color that exceeds all the rest.

The small little parts, and things that are whole.
Taking them all, to complete my orange goal.

Some things were stolen and some of them found.
when gathering things orange, I mess not around.

This day only comes, but one time a year.
And this is the last one for which I'll be here.

So feel all the warmth from the orange that you see.
And have a great birthday, to best friend from me.
