Silent War

Joseph M Marion

A battlefield within, a silent war, Where thoughts like soldiers march and soar. My mind, a fortress, walls so high, A battlefield within, a silent war, Where thoughts like soldiers march and soar. My mind, a fortress, walls so high, Against the doubts that rush nearby.
The shadows creep, the fears take hold, A story whispered, often told. I raise my shield, my spirit bright, and face the demons of the night.
Each anxious thought, a piercing dart, I fight with courage in my heart. With every breath, a conscious plea, To find the peace that lives in me.
The battle rages, fierce and long, But hope remains, my guiding song. For in this war, I'll find my way, And claim the victory of a brighter day.

A lovely write in metaphor of all that we fight and face each day. Nicely expressed in poetic form
