To the Universe

RSM0812

My apology to the universe so fair,

Never dying, unaware.

I've focused on the true sublime,

With the gentle flow of unraveled time.

Umbrella in the ocean waves,

Behaves like a child’s worth.

Lost in innocence they behave,

Gifted at their birth.

When the wave hits hard the sandy shore,

Connected as the world implores,

Never will a drop of rain,

Fall so gently, wanting pain.

As feverously black, the midnight sky.

The soul of creation shan't ever die.

The metaphor and allegory in this poem does not go unnoticed and it fits so well. The interesting change in rhyme scheme in the second stanza awakens the reader to the potential for change. This poem is thought provoking and philosophical. Nicely done and a fave
