More than Rubber and Seams

Joshua

When I hold you between my palms,

I feel my fears and dripping tears,

To the eyes you might be rubber and seams,

But to my soul,my only hope.

I have seen how swiftly and smoothly you glide,

In people's palms,

Others really struggle within themselves to control you,

In other people's demise you seem to pay no mind,

Because you move when moved.

You are people's dreams,

People's therapist,

People's love,

By a bounce you build community,

Your beauty defined by creativity,

That is why when I hold you between my palms,

You are more than just rubber and seams.

Skill cannot outwit you,

Talent has no grip on you,

You move when moved and go when released,

That is the beauty you possess.

All my life when I dance,

When I hold you between my palms,

You are more than just rubber and seams.
