Travels of the mind

Nicole Pritchard

Even at our worst, dreams take us away

To places that soothe the soul each day

In our minds we wander free and wide

Calming the noise and letting peace reside

Through landscapes of thought, we roam and play

Visiting dreams, in a world of our own way

The mind's eye sees what our heart desires

In those visions our spirits acquire

A sense of calm, a sense of peace

A refuge from life's chaotic release

In these inner travels, we find our way

To a place of solace, night and day

The world's din fades, as we journey deep

To a place where love and hope softly creep

Though we my not physically roam

Our minds can travel to a place called home

  • Comment from author about the poem: This is about when I\\\'m needing time to escape my own reality for a little while and go on a journey without leaving the comfort of my home. This is my way of grounding myself
