One of those cheap lighters you buy at the gas station
That I can barely light myself because it hurts my thumb
The spark wheel digging into my skin as I try to produce fire
Because it requires so much effort to see the light.

Here there is a metaphor that shines through. Some people are just too much work to get to see the light. You get what you pay for. A good read
Ha! Nice pun. Thanks for reading!
Most welcome
Your poem "Lighter" explores the struggle to ignite a spark, both literally and metaphorically. It reflects on the effort required to produce light and warmth, suggesting deeper themes of struggle, frustration, and perhaps the yearning for illumination or clarity in life.
Thank you for reading
You're most welcome,
🥷 my friend, I’ve felt that kind of fight...where the smallest act takes all your strength. You made that moment of effort burn with meaning. Well done! 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
Is it burning with meaning? Or losing myself to ashes...one may never know. Thank you for reading!
