Beauty

Anthony Hanible

I'll never lose sight

Even if you do

Melted just from a peak

Outside and within

So I still don't understand

Why o why

You're depressed

Why

You stop giving your best

Beauty

You're so beautiful

And

I still don't understand

How you can't see

How you can't feel

You don't like your hair

You don't like your weight

You don't like you

So you do nothing

I still don't understand

Because

You're so beautiful

Beauty seen through different eyes where we are often our harshest critique nicely written

  • Friendship

The poem explores themes of beauty, self-perception, and emotional struggle. It highlights the disconnect between the speaker's admiration for someone and that person's internal battle with self-image and depression. The speaker expresses confusion and compassion, emphasizing the beauty they see in the other person, which the latter cannot recognize in themselves.
