Wishing you all a fantastic Halloween, Guy Fawkes,
Christmas and Happy New Year..
Some People at Christmas
Some people this Christmas will spend £1000 on a phone.
Some people will be, penniless, cold and all alone.
Some people will be waiting for the Turkey to be done.
Some people will be hungry and without a home.
Some people will only have themselves on their mind.
Some people will show others compassion and kind.
Some people will be surrounded by family and friends.
Some people will be dreading it’s Christmas time again.
So, as you spend your money and fatten up your bellies.
Who will help the homeless, poor, old and the lonely.
Some people at Christmas go to church;
Celebrating the birth of Jesus
Some people at Christmas decorate;
with different ornaments
Some people at Christmas play;
They play on the snow
For me on Christmas;
I go to church and reunite with loved ones
For Christmas, some people prefer to stay at home and watch Christmas movies.
Others prefer to be with each other; in some cases, some cannot.
Christmas is a good opportunity
To make changes for a better life,
To get rid of ideas that don't work,
To chart out a new future.
The lights show the way,
They brush aside days of gloom.
Let's take the chance to change for the better.

*****
Some people - me anyway
Hates Christmas morning - but why?
Well, some fat beardy bloke in wellies
And a red costume
Always comes down the chimney
Dang it! Me lounge is always full of soot
I have no joy on Christmas morning
Cos I have to clear up all me lounge
Happens every year without fail
Who so that fat guy?
Do ya know him?!
Dunno how he gets down that chimney. lol.
Maybe on the day with a meal go out and say hello.
To people like this the neighborhood already know.
Maybe invite them round and show them some caring.
Then the joy and love you have around you, they could be sharing.
If you wanted there are many ways you could find.
To make it a better day for everyone at Christmas time.
On Christmas day
I think of those
Upon our streets
Lonely cold
Homeless forgotten
Wrapped in dirty sheets
I think of those
Upon our streets.
Christmas for us is full of cheer
As we greet our near and dear
Our gated society celebrates with flair
Every year – there’s definitely a fair..
So the kids get to play and have some fun
While parents relax and bask in the sun
But what about the poor –
Will they just sit and mope ?
The lonely and the homeless –
How will they cope ?
Does our conscience even give a twinge
As we enjoy, and embark on a binge…
