The Stranger I've Known Forever

Aiswarya Girish

A cozy, bustling cafe-

people enjoying hot cups of coffee

"There is something you need to see "-my mind echoes

The bell rings, distracting my thoughts

to the man in the navy blue shirt with those green eyes.

My eyes got stuck on his

My heart felt calm- I found

something I had lost.

He walks towards me

The cafe, once full of voices and music,

fades into silence.

I could only see him-

The one my eyes had missed for long.

green eyes.
