Warnings from friends,
They see her face,
But I can tell
It's not the same.
But I won't give up,
Won't let them bury it.
Sometimes it hurts,
Sometimes I'm scared.
I made a vow
To not bleed again.
But I will persist,
I will endure it.
I see the light,
It's worth a fight.
You are all wrong -
I'll prove I'm right.
I know the path,
Though it is blurry.

- Comment from author about the poem: A reflection on how fear of repeating the past can distort the present - and how trust sometimes means choosing to risk pain again.
