Infernal Devotion

Iris Lynn

I kissed the match and begged for a bite,

To set my soul in crimson light.

It roared through ribs, a sacred sin,

A blaze that burned me from within.

No prayer could cool this fevered flame,

No vow could tame its wild acclaim.

It danced on ash, it drank my cries,

And lit the stars behind my eyes.

So let me burn, let ruin bloom,

For passion is a velvet tomb.

Darkly romantic in a most sensual manner. Nicely worded and rhymed.
