For A Girl Like Me

Meera Mere

Always knew,
if someone ever fell
for a girl like me,
it wouldn’t be for the looks.

But then what would it be for?
Maybe my mind—
but I’m a little silly too,
never the sharpest in the room either.

Maybe for some “inner beauty,”
but truth is,
I’m not all light inside.
Sometimes I’m too selfish
to be kind.

Maybe my dreams,
but they’re messy too—
half of them crumble,
the other half
scare me when they come true.

And it all makes me wonder,
how could anyone ever,
fall for a girl like me?

Barbie and Ken getting ready in the morning. Could you really put up with it?
If you can make me laugh, you're in.

Never been a barbie kid but if it brings someone a smile, totally in....

A poem of personal inventory where each element is put down. Sad indeed. There is someone for everyone regardless. One needs to open one's eyes and find their positives, everyone has them. Nicely written

Myself I find nothing attractive in someone who thinks there perfect, the beauty lies in the cracks, faults and quirks we all have , nicely expressed write

Don't sell yourself short; you can write. I like your honesty.

don't short sell yourself - there is definitely something in each one that will attract the right sort of people..so be patient and wait...
