DESCENT INTO MEDIOCRITY

nephilim56 ( Norman Dickson)

They give praise
To the average
The pioneer goes
Unheard
High up on
The precipice
Heart beats
The soul versed.

Tiny rhymes
Words fallen down
Praise the bland
Fools abound
While greatness
In giant steps
Is left ignored
In blindfold kept.

From povertys prison
Genius handcuffed
To a fires dying ember
In Winters ruthless thrust
The roaring fireside
Of mediocrity glows
The dying lips of talent
Overthrown.

Amen. Just good enough has been promoted, the bar of accomplishment lowered way too many times. What happened to pride of workmanship, where went the craftsmen? Very tice work here.

and so it is with so many geniuses - their true worth is recognized much too late, when they cannot enjoy the fruits of their labour..
