DESCENT INTO MEDIOCRITY

nephilim56 ( Norman Dickson)

They give praise
To the average
The pioneer goes
Unheard
High up on
The precipice
Heart beats
The soul versed.

Tiny rhymes
Words fallen down
Praise the bland
Fools abound
While greatness
In giant steps
Is left ignored
In blindfold kept.

From povertys prison
Genius handcuffed
To a fires dying ember
In Winters ruthless thrust
The roaring fireside
Of mediocrity glows
The dying lips of talent
Overthrown.
