Hey, so maybe I lied when I said,
"I'm so sorry this happened to you, darling."
To you, it must’ve come as a shocker,
But it was me who long prayed you'd be fallin’.
Hey, and maybe that day you called me crying,
Sobbing and saying you were sorry,
It sounded genuine, but I kept counting
Every little tale you thought I'd be buying.
Some ties are meant to rot in silence,
Pretty girls don't cry over coffins.
Yet here you are, sitting and sobbin' —
(Now you know how it feels.)
And maybe, in a while,
This will all declassify.
Until then,
It's just me, myself, and I.

A feeling common to most of us that feel justice must be done for past wrongs. Nicely written
