Careful

2781

Careful what you say:

Engage brain before putting mouth in gear;

A sign on the interview wall:

The foolish didn't read it, or maybe they did? but just wanted to squawk.

Silence is sacred, words can be used to great effect, to manipulate, to abuse.

So I carried a lesson, but did I learn?

Or change my ways?

I can't declare.

My mind it fights: choices wrong? Choices right?

"Declare your righteousness".

Show me your might!

The more I see, the less I know.

Just be careful,

Watch the show.

    There is much value as this poem balances advice with selfโ€‘doubt. How it starts as a warning about careless words but turns into something more vulnerable, admitting that wisdom is never final. The ending line really lands solidly and sometimes the best we can do is stay watchful and careful. ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ๐Ÿ™

        Adages well known but seldom followed but then people are like that, they always do as they please with no thought of consequences. Nicely written

              It's not an original but a sign I read in a police interview room.
              Worth remembering though!
